Antibes are a famous city of the French Riviera, situated on the Mediterranean coastline between Cannes (10 km) and Nice (23 km).
It is the second city most populated in the department, where you enjoy its exceptional historical heritage ; the port Vauban and its ramparts, the quay of the billionaires which gathers the most beautiful yachts of the world, the Fort Carré, the Grimaldi castle which hosts the Picasso museum, the Peynet museum... Old Antibes is an architectural marvel !

The Cap d'Antibes, in the south of Antibes, is a district composed of luxury hotels and villas but also a place for nature. The small port of Salis, the Garoupe path following the coastline, the Garoupe lighthouse have to be discovered. If you like gardens and parks, go to the gardens of the Eilenroc Villa and Thuret in the Cap d'Antibes, the park Exflora or the public parks of Vaugrenier and Valmasque (it is recommended to have a car for the last parks).

Markets are also a part of the soul of this city : Provençal, handicraft, clothes, bric-a-brac, ... the choice is vast.
Antibes is also a modern city which remains livened up all year long, it proposes a diversified program and activities for all types (nautical activities, theme parks, museums, night club, golf, spa, tennis). For the night-animations, you would rather go towards Juan-les Pins' beaches and bars (2 km from Antibes).

The beaches of Antibes are fine sand in the city center up to the Cap d'Antibes or pebbles, on the east of Antibes (towards the Fort Carré in the direction of Nice).
The Fort Carré beach extends to Villeneuve Loubet, which makes it the biggest beach of Antibes. About sandy beaches, they are more appreciated by families with children because more distant from the road (Ponteil and Gravette beaches).

    Must see or do

• The Coastal pathway

Direction the Cap d'Antibes : a magnificent walk on the path Tire-Poil, formerly old smugglers'pathway which goes along all the coast. Easy and well indicated, the 5 km tour starts at the Garoupe beach (Garoupe parking lot). After 2.5 km, you return to lands with the Douaniers pathway.

• Picasso Museum

The Picasso museum is a place to visit, for the artist and for the architecture. Indeed, the museum is established in the Grimaldi castle, formerly inhabited by the Monegasque family : Grimaldi. It is classified as "Historic Monument" since 1928. In 1966, the castle becomes the Picasso museum, the first one dedicated to the artist at that time. Today, the museum also presents the works of other artists such as Nicolas de Staël, Joan Miró, Fernand Léger...

• Fort Carré

Close to the Port Vauban and peaking 43 meters over the sea level, you can not miss it ! The Fort was built in the XVIth century for its military vocation, then it becomes a historic classified monument in 1938. The former military fort is now opened to the public : the visit is very instructive and relatively short, the view is impregnable... We love it !
