Located at Mont Blanc bottom, Chamonix is a mountain city with an unusual spirit!
Famous around the world, surrounding sites offer amazing landscapes.
Aiguille du Midi, Ice sea, Mont Blanc tramway, white valley, Grands Montets, Brevent... those mythics places will be great for each kind of holliday maker.
English speaking and posh, city center (1035 meters) is mainly made with small pedestrian roads. It is the place where you will find a lot of shops and restaurants . Very charming, the centre is pleasant to discover by walking and quite fast.

About 15 hamlets hold around the city.

If to move is very simple there, with a charged bus service serving the various districts and resort sites. There is also a free shuttle covering the southern part of the river (the Mulet). The city center is pedestrian, so it is necessary to go around the city by car by the Allée Recteur Payot and the Route Blanche. You have the choice to park your car :
- Parking lots (free, paying, flatware or outsides)
- The blue parking places are regulated
- The white parking places are free
A train station is also in city center, 5 minutes from the city-center by foot.

Mountaineering world capitale thanks to the Mont Blanc, Chamonix also has a large ski offer.

Out of the slope ski is attractive with the famous Vallee Blanche (white valley). It provides freeride ski from Aiguille du Midi summit down to Montenvers rail station. It makes 20 kilometers and 2000 meters of altitude change to ride!

To be discovered also (for out of the slopes lovers): Pas de Chevre and Rognon glacier route.

Do you prefer ski run? No problem, in Chamonix this one can be made on several distinct massif all included in Chamonix le Pass skipass:

• Brévent / Flégère (1030m - 2525m)
  
  Directly reachable from Chamonix downtown thanks to Plan Praz gondola, it offers various ski runs with a great view on the highest summit in Europe.




• Les Grands-Montets (1235m -3300m)
  

  Departure in Argentiere. This ski area is harder and great for good skiers.




• La Balme / Vallorcine (1453m - 2270m)
  

  At the end of the valley, it provides easy and familial ski runs.





• Les Planards (1062m - 1242m)
  
  Close to Chamonix center, it offers a chairlift and 2 draglits. Great to learn ski.

• 58 lift of 1035 at 2765 m.

Mont Blanc unlimited ski area gives access to mythic places like Chamonix valley (Mt Blanc tramway, Aiguille du Midi cable car, Montenvers train).
