Chatel ski resort is divided in 5 small villages: Petit Chatel, Chatel, Villapeyron, Pré la Joux, Plaine Dranse.

Common point between these villages are the authentical aspect they have. Made of hamlets, Chatel is thus a quiet and charming place to stay.

The other side of the coin is few accommodation are close to ski runs. You will have to use the free shuttle service to get to the slopes.

Chatel skipass will offer you 130 km of ski runs with 58 lifts divided in 2 main slopes not linked (you will have to use a free shuttle service).

The first one, Barbossine Super Chatel, is great for beginners. It allows to ski on Swiss side in Torgon and Morgins.

The second one, Linga, is more technical.It offers nice landscapes, up to date ski lifts and a direct access to Avoriaz (with Portes du Soleil skipass). Opened from 17/12 to 22/04/2023.

Portes du Soleil ski area is made of 8 french ski resorts and 4 Swiss ski resorts.

It is one of the largest unlinked ski area in the world (junction between some parts of the area have to be made with shuttles).

From 950 up to 2400 meters, "PDS" ski area is known as a great place for snow quality and quantity.

I disliked...
Ne pas avoir pu faire du chien de traîneaux car les réservations étaient complètes jusqu’à avril.
Nous n’avons pas pu faire la tirolienne non plus…
Pour les restaurants il faut réserver deux trois jours à l’avance c’est très dommage !!!
