Conceived by the architect Marcel Breuer (Bauhaus trend), Flaine is a modern and functional resort listed as a historical monument.
If the resort style, known as "integrated" is sometimes criticized, landscape integration and praticity are accomplished: ski runs and shops are directly at the bottom of the buildings.
With no car resort, Flaine can be divided into 3 levels :
Flaine Front de Neige (1500 m), Flaine Forum (1600 m) and Flaine Foret (1700 m). The 2 last one are linked each other by a public lift system.
Two other districts have been recently added. They are called Flaine Mont Soleil (directly on the slopes) and Flaine le Hameau (bus service to go skiing).

Whether you ski in high altitude in front of the Mont Blanc (Tete des Lindars, Grandes Platieres) or in the lower areas... in Flaine all find of ski are possible.
