Menton is the last town before you reach Italy (3 km), 7 km from Monaco.
This city is well-known for its sweetness of life, its warm and typically provençal colors, but also for the historical, botanical and cultural wealth. It is easy to see Menton was a holiday resort for british and russian aristocraty : russian and Anglican church, St Michel Archange basilica. The numerous gardens are also part of the reputation, as well as its lemon, very delicious which are celebrated with the Lemon Festival !
The Menton coastline offers more pebbly beaches but two of them are sandy beaches.
At the west (direction Roquebrune Cap Martin) and the east, to Italy, beaches are made of pebbles. Direction the old port to find sandy beaches, the Rondelli and Sablettes beaches. Private beaches are mostly concentrated at the east, the rest is public.

The lemon city celebrates its golden fruit every year in February. Instead of Carnival traditional flower floats, you will see citrus fruits floats ! Since the XVth century, Menton is a lemon producer which lived thanks to its citrus-cultivation. The lemon of Menton, recognized for its unique taste, is in the process of being labelized.
• Saint Michel Archange's BasilicaIt is a symbol of Menton that you must visit ! This well-maintained baroque art jewel offers a great view on the coastline. The square, renovated in 2006, required 250 000 pebbles (selected for their color and their shape), put one by one to reconstitute 170 m ².
This restaurant is situated on the Place des Herbes, in the old town, in the charming (the shaded terrace is super). The menu is small, dishes are simple but the products are fresh and the prices moderate : the whole in a friendly atmosphere !
