Treasure of Guisane valley, Monetier les Bains (real name of Serre Chevalier 1500) is a small traditionnal village which has managed to keep its charming aspect.

Accommodations are mostly based on chalets and small residences. Ski runs are far from the village center (about 1 kilometer walking). A free shuttle service make the junction between districts and ski departure place.

Other singularity of Monetier, its famous thermal spring well known for its gastric, rheumatologic and et dermatologic properties. This « miraculous » water gushed at 37°C and stream along the village in charming small pedestrian path. You can dip your feet at the spring in the upper part of the village or take benefit from the new thermal center called "les Grands Bains". A must have seen!

Monetier les Bains is a family resort. Ecrins national parc and Casset village (great departure point for hiking), make Monetier a nice place to visit in summer.

The largest ski area of the southern french Alps offers 101 ski runs and 250 kilometers of slopes.

You will be free to ride under the sun (Briancon city claims to have 300 days under the sun each year!) and between Melezes forest.

Ecrin national park proximity provides amazing landscapes at the ski area summits. Opened from 10/12 to 16/04/2023.

Paysages magnifiques, maisons montagnardes anciennes.

I disliked...
Les navettes payantes. Cela génère un trafic important de voitures dans la traversée des villages - parkings bien remplis, certains sont payants.
